Guided Excursion: Great Ķemeri Bog (Lielais Ķemeru tīrelis)
We will begin with a guided excursion to the Great Ķemeri Bog in Ķemeri National Park. The park was established in 1997 to protect the area's natural, cultural, historical, and resort-related resources, while promoting sustainable tourism, environmentally responsible economic activity, and environmental education. While walking through the Great Ķemeri Bog, participants will have an opportunity to learn about the development and ecological aspects of the habitat from local guides. The route includes an observation platform offering panoramic views of the bog landscape.
- Total walking distance: Approximately 5 kilometres
- Trail: Wooden boardwalk (hiking boots are not required); waterproof jackets are recommended in case of rainy weather

Theatrical Tour: “With the Castle Key Holder” (Jaunpils Castle)
The excursion will continue with a theatrical tour titled “With the Castle Key Holder”, held at Jaunpils Castle — one of Latvia’s best-preserved medieval castles. Located in the town of Jaunpils, the castle was originally built in the late 14th century by the Livonian Order. Today, it is recognised as both an archaeological and architectural monument of national significance. The interactive tour will introduce visitors to the castle’s rich history through engaging performances and storytelling by costumed guides. During the visit, there will be an opportunity to mint a commemorative coin for a fee of €2. The excursion will conclude with a traditional medieval-style meal served in the castle’s historic basement hall.
